Sunday evening arrest in Pittsburg leads to discovery of drugs and 3 grand in suspects possession.

Pittsburg Police were dispatched to a residence in the 700 block of East Quincy on Sunday evening at 7:15 PM after reports of a subject pulling a knife on his family members during a dispute, according to a police report.

When authorities arrived, officers were informed that the suspect had fled the scene; Nearby citizens stated the male potentially went to the dead end, which is located in the 800 block of East Jackson Street.

Shortly after the search began, the suspect, 30-year-old Keith A Brown, of Pittsburg, was located in some brush.

After searching Brown. authorities found over half a pound of marijuana packaged for distribution, methamphetamine that also packaged for distribution, and other distribution-related paraphernalia; Brown also had over $3,000 dollars in his possession, which was also seized.

Brown also had a knife in his possession, which was found to be the one used to threaten the family members after further investigation.

Brown was arrested on charges of felony distribution of controlled substances, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Brown was transported to Crawford County Jail and had a bond set at $7,500.
