St. Louis rent dispute ends with man fatally shot.

(AP) – St. Louis prosecutors are accusing a man of fatally shooting another man in a rent dispute, then dumping the body near a Mississippi River bridge. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that 51-year-old Lamont Johnson was jailed Thursday on charges of second-degree murder, armed criminal action and evidence tampering. He is held without bond. Charging documents say Johnson shot 57-year-old Charles Braxton on Jan. 3 when Braxton showed up at Johnson’s home to collect rent. Braxton’s body was found Jan. 13 under the Poplar Street Bridge in East St. Louis, Illinois.
