Sunshine Law investigation in Joplin

The Joplin City Council is under investigation by the Missouri Attorney General’s office for claims that the council violated the state’s Sunshine Law.   Two Joplin residents filed the complaints after seeing what appeared to be a gathering before a council meeting last month where the council was having a dinner together.   The Joplin City Attorney Peter Edwards was sent a letter by the Attorney General’s office requesting information about the dinner.
