Joplin gets grounded

American Airlines is grounding flights to and from Joplin Regional Airport. The airline says it will suspend Joplin’s flight service to and from Chicago and Dallas on October 7th, 2020. American Airlines says it’s a result of low demand and the expiration of the air service requirements associated with the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act. The changes are only in place for the October schedule period which runs through November 3rd.

In addition to Joplin, 14 other markets will have their services suspended by American Airlines as well
