12-year-old killed, father held as suspect

In Bolivar, a 12-year-old boy is dead and the chief suspect is the boy’s own father.
Police say the boy was attacked from behind evidently sometime on Sunday, and suffered serious head injuries.
The attack and killing evidently took place at the home of the child’s grandparents.
The body was found by the boy's step-grandfather.
No motive is known. The father is being held in the county jail in Polk County.
No names have been released at this time.
