Parson clarifies remarks on children, coronavirus

Missouri Gov. Mike Parson has clarified recent remarks he made in an interview when he said children in the school will contract the coronavirus "but will get over it."

The comment had drawn fire from critics who said it showed a callous disregard for suffering children.

Parson made it clear the safety “of ALL Missouri students, educators, and school employees is of utmost important to him.

Parson said he's been a strong supporter of education throughout his career.
