Wind, storm downs poles on Newman Road

Wind, storm downs poles on Newman Road

A big wind Thursday afternoon during a thunderstorm knocked 10 poles and power lines down along Newman Road near Missouri Southern State University.

A spokesperson for Liberty Utilities-Empire District tells NewsTalk KZRG about 2,000 customers lost power during and after the storm.

Two people were trapped in their cars when the poles came down but luckily no one was injured.
