(AP) Missouri lawmakers are trying to ensure voters can cast absentee ballots if they're worried about catching the coronavirus. The House advanced a proposal Wednesday to ensure access to absentee voting this year. If the measure becomes law, voters without any other excuse could request to have a ballot mailed to them. Voters still would need to get those ballots notarized. Democratic Rep. Deb Lavender questioned whether absentee voting will be helpful if people still need to leave their homes to get their ballots notarized. The change still needs Senate approval and would need to be signed by Republican Gov. Mike Parson.
