Do NOT Flush Toilet Paper Alternatives Down Toilet

With toiet paper in short supply recently, people are using paper towels, facial tissue, wipes, napkins or other substitutes.

Public Works officials want to remind you that such products need to be thrown in the trash and not flushed down the toilet. Even alternative products that are labeled as flushable can wreak havoc on wastewater pumping stations, clog sewer systems and harm your home's plumbing.

Pay extra attention to what you're using and don't flush anything other than toilet paper.
