Veterans from across Missouri to attend Vietnam Commemoration

A 50th Anniversary Commemoration Ceremony will take place at the Missouri State Capitol in Jefferson City this Thursday morning, April 25, hosted by the 100th Session of the Missouri General Assembly and Governor Mike Parson.

"We've got veterans from all over the state coming to the state capitol," says Jamiek Melchert, Communications Director for the Missouri Veterans Commission. "They'll be recognized for their service in Vietnam."

Melchert says all Vietnam vets and their families and friends are invited to the 9 a.m. ceremony. The event will take place at the Capitol Rotunda at 201 West Capitol Avenue in Jefferson City.

Governor Parson and legislators will award commemorative pins. .

Due to parking considerations, Veterans, family members and friends are requested to arrive two hours early.

The 50th Commemoration of the Vietnam War is sponsored by the Department of Defense.
