Nancy Boyda

Nancy Boyda, born in 1955, is the Democratic candidate for Kansas' 2nd Congressional District in 2024. A former U.S. Representative who served from 2007 to 2009, Boyda has a diverse background in chemistry, politics, and public service. She holds degrees in chemistry and education from William Jewell College and spent much of her career in pharmaceutical research and development.

Boyda is known for her moderate, independent stance and focus on bipartisanship. She supports gradual troop withdrawal from overseas conflicts while ensuring troop funding. On social issues, Boyda has expressed support for traditional marriage but opposes constitutional amendments banning same-sex marriage.

A former Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense, Boyda emphasizes her broad experience in Congress, industry, and government as key qualifications for the role. She currently resides on a small farm near Baldwin City, Kansas.
