Michael Bergstrom

Micheal Bergstrom, the incumbent Republican senator for Oklahoma State Senate District 1, is seeking re-election in 2024. Elected in 2016, Bergstrom represents the northeast corner of Oklahoma, including Craig, Delaware, Rogers, Mayes, and Ottawa counties1. With a background in journalism and nearly two decades in public education, Bergstrom taught high school English and yearbook at Bluejacket Public Schools before entering politics.

Bergstrom's recent legislative efforts include proposing a gradual elimination of the state income tax and safeguarding Oklahomans' liberties. Bergstrom resides in Adair with his wife Robin and is an active member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, where he has served in leadership roles.
