Biography
Josh Brecheen is the incumbent U.S. Representative for Oklahoma's 2nd Congressional District, serving since 2023. A committed Christian and fourth-generation rancher from Coal County, Oklahoma, Brecheen previously served as an Oklahoma State Senator from 2010 to 2018. He owns a small excavation and trucking business and worked as a field representative for U.S. Senator Tom Coburn.
Brecheen is known for his conservative stance, focusing on reining in government spending and reducing the national debt. He supports term limits, having pledged to serve no more than four terms in the House. Brecheen advocates for strong border security and opposes federal involvement in education. He emphasizes the need for a strong national defense and supports protecting Social Security and Medicare.
In Congress, Brecheen has voted against additional aid to Ukraine and supported providing assistance to Israel following the 2023 Hamas attack. He is running for re-election in 2024.
