Barbara Phifer

Barbara Phifer, a Democrat running for Missouri Secretary of State in 2024, brings a unique blend of pastoral and political experience to her campaign. Born in Washington D.C. and raised in Columbia, Missouri, Phifer served as a United Methodist pastor for over 40 years, including five years in Uruguay during its military dictatorship. This experience shaped her commitment to democracy and fair elections.

Elected to the Missouri House of Representatives in 2020, Phifer represents District 90 in St. Louis County. Her political stances focus on protecting voting rights, ensuring fair and accurate ballot language, and supporting local control of libraries. 

With her background in ministry and legislative experience, Phifer aims to bring integrity, fairness, and compassion to the role of Secretary of State.
