Andrew Bailey

Andrew Bailey, the incumbent Missouri Attorney General, is running for a full term in 2024. Appointed by Governor Mike Parson in January 2023, Bailey is a Republican with a background in law and military service.

Bailey earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Missouri and served two tours in Iraq as an Army officer, receiving multiple commendations including two Bronze Star Medals. After obtaining his law degree, he worked as an assistant attorney general, prosecutor, and general counsel for various state offices before becoming Parson's general counsel.

As Attorney General, Bailey has adopted conservative positions, opposing abortion and gender-affirming care. He has filed numerous lawsuits against the federal government, including challenges to student loan forgiveness and alleged social media censorship. Bailey has also been a vocal supporter of former President Donald Trump and has prioritized conservative "culture war" issues during his tenure.
