Two charged after police pursuit in Joplin, Galena on Friday

A man from Fort Scott, Kansas, and a woman from Joplin are facing charges after a police pursuit Friday.

It started in Joplin, when officers tried to make contact with a wanted fugitive who was possibly armed.

Austin Arnold then led police on a pursuit in Galena, Kansas, before ending in a field between Galena and Baxter.

Arnold was arrested on Multiple Felony Warrants, Possession of Methamphetamines, Fleeing and Eluding LEO, Interference with LEO and Aggravated Assault.

His passenger, Chelsea Fields was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. More charges are pending in this case.

Galena Police remind us they are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
