Burlison – possible deal to end government shutdown in the works

There are rumblings of a possible deal in the Senate to end the longest government shutdown in history.
Southwest Missouri Congressman Eric Burlison told Newstalk KZRG:
“If hopefully they will do a continuing resolution into 2026 and not do what they’ve done in years past, which is put it to, you know, the end of 2025, right before Christmas, because that’s what D.C. loves to do, is put it in that date so that they can set up the perfect scenario for jamming everybody with a December omnibus, you know, piece of garbage bill.”
Burlison also said:
“And, and that’s something that I’m hopeful and I’m hearing good things that the speaker this week, whenever I was with him, said that they don’t that the House votes to do a December, you know, a CR until Christmas, and there’s a lot of members that will refuse to do that.”
