Missouri Submits Rural Health Plan for Federal Review

(Missourinet) – Missouri could soon see a major boost for rural health care.

Governor Mike Kehoe says the state has submitted its Rural Health Transformation plan to the federal government for review.

The proposal aims to expand access to care, improve quality, and strengthen rural health through telehealth and better provider support.

If approved, Missouri could receive up to 250 million dollars a year for five years from a 50-billion-dollar national fund included in the federal budget bill.

A decision is expected by December 31st.
