Health Insurance Rates Rising in Missouri: What You Need to Know for 2026

(Missourinet) – Health insurance rates are going up in Missouri, and state leaders say now’s the time to start planning for 2026.
The Missouri Department of Commerce and Insurance has released final health insurance rates for next year’s individual and small group markets.
Data from the department shows the average rate change ranges from four-percent lower to about 30-percent lower to about 30-percent higher over the current rates.
While rates are expected to rise, every county in Missouri will still have at least two carriers offering coverage, with most counties offering four or more.
The agency urges Missourians to carefully review their options, especially as some subsidies are set to expire and plan networks may change.
Open enrollment started November 1, and the deadline for coverage starting January 1 is December 15.
