Burlison answers questions about giant skeletons in the Smithsonian

Southwest Missouri Congressman Eric Burlison has gotten some recent media attention after appearing on a podcast that speculated whether the Smithsonian Institute is storing the skeletal remains of giants. He was asked about it again during a conference call with Missouri reporters last week. He emphasized that he does not know if giant skeletons are being stored at the Smithsonian, but:

“I’m a Christian. Do I believe the story of David and Goliath? Yes. Do I believe the giants that were described when Caleb and Joshua scouted out the land of Israel? Yes. If you believe in the Bible, I believe that there were probably unusually large people at some point in time. I believe that the Bible is the inherent word of God. So do tens of millions of people in the United States.”

Burlison also recently took part in congressional hearings regarding UFOs. He displayed a video during a House hearing last month that shows a missile striking a UFO off the coast of Yemen last year, with little or no harm to the UFO.

He was recently ridiculed in an Esquire magazine article for his appearance on the podcast. He said he receives tips about such things because he sits on the U.S. House Oversight Committee:

“One individual did send me a document that is a copy of numerous journals of the Smithsonian and their archives where they are cataloguing what they’re working on. And in numerous journals they do cite that they’re working on archaeological digs of skeletons of unusually large size.”

Burlison says he had his staff forward the document to him, though he told reporters that digging into them is not a high priority.

The congressman has also made headlines for accusing the federal government of hiding the truth about UFO encounters
