Joplin Chamber presents The Bold Women’s Summit on November 18

The Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce, alongside its partners, is excited to present the BOLD (Building Opportunities for Leadership Development) Women’s Summit on Thursday, November 18, 2025, at James River Church in Joplin (1850 S. Maiden Lane).
This brand-new, groundbreaking initiative is designed to cultivate leadership, connection, and confidence among women in the four-state area. The all-day, interactive summit is designed to equip, uplift, and inspire through powerful keynotes, meaningful networking, and high-impact breakout sessions that spark both personal and professional growth.
The event features three tracks that were selected by local women who identified each topic as a pressing need for themselves and women around them. The tracks are Leadership & Influence, Voices of Change, and Holistic Health. Each track includes inspiring breakout sessions and dynamic panel discussions designed to give women tangible takeaways on subjects like:
* Building networks that open doors.
* The realities of rejection, bias, and conflict. How to reframe barriers as opportunities.
* Confidence-building approaches for navigating conflict.
* Setting boundaries.
* Strategies for sustainable self-care.
Guests will also hear from nationally recognized speakers, dynamic local change-makers, and high-impact breakout leaders. The keynotes include:
* Dr. Rachel Oblon, a PhD in Organizational Leadership, will open a conversation on identity and imposter syndrome.
* Alissa Owsley, co-founder of LifeWork, who will guide participants to a deeper understanding of emotional intelligence so they can strengthen their communication skills, build meaningful relationships, and approach challenges with empathy and composure.
* Michelle “Mo” Holloman, founder of Main Character Coach, will challenge the idea of an inevitable burnout and encourage women to step out of hustle mode and embrace a more sustainable path to success.
“We’re excited to start a movement that activates potential, amplifies voices, and builds bridges between industries and generations,” says Lauren Hall, Director of Member Success at the Joplin Chamber. “This isn’t just another women’s summit — we’re bringing practical strategies and tangible approaches to women (and men) so that they can experience high-caliber leadership development that inspires them to live boldly right here in Joplin.”
The BOLD Women’s Summit kicks off with networking and breakfast from 7:30 to 8:30 am. Vendors and nonprofit booths will be exhibiting in order to highlight the services they offer to women in the community.
Powerful keynotes and breakout sessions follow the networking before attendees are encouraged to gather for a group lunch. The afternoon continues with additional sessions and keynotes before 4:30 pm, when everyone is invited to continue their conversations and discuss key takeaways at the Chamber’s Business After Hours, hosted at the Roxy Event Center (102 S. Joplin Avenue).
BOLD Experience Passes are $100 and can be purchased at app.g leup.com/event/bold-womens-
There is also an option to gift a BOLD Experience Pass to allow individuals or organizations to sponsor women who may not otherwise be able to attend. Both Chamber members and nonmembers are invited to join the movement.
