350+ new “Works of Art” descend on Crystal Bridges Museum October 11 & 12

For anyone who’s ever dreamed of bringing home their very own work of art from a famous museum, next weekend they’ll have their chance!

On October 11 and 12, more than 350 adoptable dogs and cats will head to Crystal Bridges Musem of American Art for the second annual Best Friends Animal Society’s Super Adoption.

These pets will come from more than 15 shelters and rescue groups around Arkansas, and all will be looking for loving homes.

“Admission into Crystal Bridges is free so you could easily come and make a day of it,” says Linda Debarry of Best Friends Animal Society.

Every dog and cat is a masterpiece in its own right, from high energy tail chasers to sleepy couch potatoes and everything in between. To get ready for Best Friends Super Adoption taking place at one of the most renowned art museums in the country – and to celebrate National Arts & Humanities Month in October – some of our adoptable dogs and cats are getting into the artistic spirit to show just how priceless they are!

Best Friends, a leading national animal welfare organization, believes these priceless pieces belong in loving homes of their own.

They are collaborating with shelters and rescue groups at Super Adoption to shine a light on the many dogs and cats waiting for families.

By choosing to adopt rather than purchase from a breeder or pet store, anyone can help bring about a time when no dog or cat dies in a shelter simply because they don’t have a safe place to call home.

Title: Cezanne

Curator’s Notes: Cezanne might not be a post-Impressionist like her namesake, but she’s easily impressed by tasty treats! This 4-year-old girl is ready to love and be loved, and snacks and gentle pets are the way to her heart.

Meet Abstract

Curator’s Notes: Despite her name, there’s nothing abstract about this kitty – she’s real and ready for a loving home! This sweet teen greets everyone at the Best Friends Pet Resource Center with a little meow in the morning to say hello, and she’s playful to boot.

Title: Watercolor

Curator’s Notes: Like the soft hues of a watercolor painting, 6-year-old Watercolor is sweet, affectionate, and friendly with everyone she meets at the Best Friends Pet Resource Center. She’s very treat-motivated – great for training! – and loves any squishy stuffy toy she can get her paws on.

Title: Easel

Curator’s Notes: Depicted here in the style of Van Gogh, Easel is a gentle and thoughtful cat with a quiet charm. Like a stunning work of art, her sweet eyes and calming presence bring peace to any room. Easel enjoys cozy, quiet spaces and will happily keep you company as you relax with a book or watch a movie.
