Man convicted of killing a man outside a Pittsburg bar sentenced to 127 months

127 months in prison:  That was the sentence for an Arkansas man convicted of killing a man outside a bar in Pittsburg, Kansas.

Judge Kurtis Loy in Crawford County sentenced 35-year-old Jemon Allen of Pine Bluff, Arkansas for voluntary manslaughter, aggravated battery and aggravated assault.

Allen was convicted of killing Justin Krogen and assaulting Christina Krogen outside Jimmy B’s Bar on August 20, 2023.

Allen then fled to Arkansas, but was brought back to Kansas to face charges in December 2023.

Allen pled guilty to voluntary manslaughter, aggravated battery and aggravated assault on May 27, 2025.

Allen was also ordered to pay $7,500 in restitution and register upon his release as a violent offender.

The case was investigated by the Pittsburg Police Department with the assistance of the Kansas Bureau of Investigation and the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office.
