Joplin bus station moves to West 7th Street; former location tapped for Casey’s Travel Center

The conversion of a former Phillips 66 station at 6601 E. 7th Street in Duenweg, Missouri has resulted in a move for the bus station that shared that location just off I-249.

Duenweg Mayor Russell Olds told NewsTalk KZRG:

“The Casey’s General Store is wanting to transition into a new Travel Center.  They bought out the store and they did not want to keep the bus station so the bus station has moved back into Joplin.”

Olds says the bus station offered some positives to his community.

“I have mixed feelings about it,”  he comments. “There are a lot of people who get off the bus and have no where to go but those buses were bringing in anywhere from 10 to 30 people who were spending at the store ….. so that’s revenue for everyone.”

Bus riders will now arrive and depart from the new station, located inside the White Oak Market at 2301 W. 7th Street in Joplin.
