Guilty By Association Truck Show 3-Day Event Held Over The Weekend
The Guilty by Association Truck Show, or GBATS, a three day truck extravaganza, dubbed the world’s largest convoy, was held over the weekend. The ginormous show sprawled across multiple businesses at Exit 4 off I-44, including 4 State Trucks, the principle organizer of the show.
Hundreds of trucks took part in support for Special Olympics Southern Missouri. All makes and models were in attendance. There were truck and tractor pulls, big-rig burnouts, and even Trucker Olympics that included tire rolling, strong pulls, and strap winding.
It culminated in a police-escort through Joplin-horns ablazin-Saturday evening at Cunningham Park with a street party on 26th Street by Maiden Lane, a spectacular trucker light show and performances by The Chad Cooke Band, and country star Collin Raye.
If you missed it you’ll have to wait another two years. The biennial event used to be held annually until Covid.
