Motorcycle accident near Carthage takes life of rider from Bonner Springs, Kansas

A man from Bonner Springs Kansas has the dubious distinction of being the 100th traffic trash fatality in 2025 in southwest Missouri.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a 41-year-old man from Bonner springs died on I-49 about a mile north of Carthage around 1:30 Friday afternoon when the northbound Harley-Davidson motorcycle he was riding traveled off the left side of the highway, hit a post and overturned.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene by Jasper County Coroner James Harrison.

It was Highway Patrol Troop D’s 100th fatality on roads and highways in southwest Missouri in calendar year 2025.
