Springfield man charged in connection with child’s death

In Springfield, a man is charged after the shooting of a four-year-old child.

That’s after the child shot himself at a residence on August 8th.

The child later died as a result.

Shawn Collins is charged with 2nd degree murder endangering the welfare of a child, three counts of unlawful use of a weapon and three counts of stealing.

Police say the gun used by the child was stolen.

Collins is in the Greene County Jail.
