PJ’s & Paws Sleepover this week at Best Friends Pet Resource Center

This week, Best Friends Animal Society is hosting the PJs & Paws Sleepover, a special three-night foster sleepover event specially designed for people who want to learn more about what it’s like to foster.

The commitment is minimal, but the impact fostering has on the community’s homeless pets is major. Here’s how the Best Friends PJs & Paws Sleepover event will work:

  • Step 1: Come to the Best Friends Pet Resource Center in Bentonville, AR on Wednesday, September 10 or Thursday, September 11 between 4-7 p.m. to meet dogs in need of foster homes. Best Friends’ staff members will help match people with dogs to make sure they’re a good fit.
  • Step 2: Once fosters have been paired up with a dog, they will take the dog home for three nights. Best Friends provides everything needed to care for foster dogs, including food, blankets, a crate, toys, a leash, and more. All you need to do is provide the snuggles!
  • Step 3: Fosters will return dogs to the center on Saturday, September 13 or Sunday, September 14 so the dogs can meet potential adopters. After the weekend, people will have the opportunity to continue to foster their dog (if they have not been adopted) if they wish.

Shelters can be noisy, stressful environments, and by fostering, people can provide a pet with a temporary home for a few days or a few months.

Fosters give pets time to acclimate to life in a home, and can provide valuable insight into a pet’s behavior, which helps shelter staff find the right adopters for that pet.

Best Friends Pet Resource Center is located at 1312 Melissa  Drive in Bentonville.
