Pittsburg man arrested after three-county pursuit reaches 100mph

A man from Pittsburg, Kansas, is in custody after a police pursuit made it’s way through three counties Monday morning.

The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office says they were notified of a stolen vehicle being pursued from Crawford County.

The suspect, 31-year-old Tyler A. Ritz, allegedly reached speeds of 100mph during the chase, which weaved in and out of Barton and Jasper counties.

The suspect vehicle began slowing near CR210 and Tranquil Road and a Crawford County deputy used the tactical vehicle intervention (TVI) maneuver to safely stop the suspect vehicle.

Ritx faces several charges including resisting arrest and Valentine’s Law. Other charges from other counties may be pursued as the investigation continues.

There were no injuries to anyone involved.
