Man charged after explosive device found in Aurora

A man from Mt. Vernon, Missouri, is facing two felony charges after an improvised explosive device was found in his truck Tuesday evening.
It all began when an officer in Aurora made contact with 31-year-old Nicholas McKeever, who’s truck was blocking an alleyway.
An officer found meth and drug paraphernalia, but the bigger danger came when he also found an IED in the vehicle.
The Springfield Fire Bomb Squad was called to the scene, confirmed the explosive was live and safely detonated it at a nearby firing range.
McKeever has been charged with possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession, transport, manufacture, repair or sale of illegal weapon.
