Joplin state audit preliminary report seen by city council – Final Public report soon

At last week’s closed door work session, the Joplin City Council got their first look at the preliminary state audit.

Mayor Keenan Cortez told Newstalk KZRG:

“The full audit report that the state of Missouri is putting out concerning Joplin, saw the whole shooting match, the whole thing. What I saw in what will eventually be the final report from the auditor’s office, which they’ll come and present publicly, is all going to be visible to the general public soon.”

Mayor Cortez continued:

“They give us an opportunity to review it preliminarily. They give us an opportunity to rebut or answer or explain, clear up any concerns that they’ve had. They’ll go back and make their readjustments, issue a final report of which they will come to town in a public meeting and display that and let everybody know.”
