Fish salvage order issued for western Missouri lake

(Learfield) – An emergency fish salvage order is in place this month for a western Missouri Lake. The Missouri Department of Conservation says the order for Lions Lake in Johnson County, will allow anglers to remove fish before the lake is drained for improvement projects.

The order allows anglers to remove as many fish as possible – excluding endangered species. The M-D-C is also temporarily suspending fishing methods restrictions at Lions Lake.

Anglers between the ages of 16 and 65 must still hold a valid Missouri fishing permit to fish at the lake. The Salvage order is good thru the end of the month.
