Livestock and competitive exhibits starting soon at Missouri State Fair

The 2025 Missouri State Fair officially kicks off on Thursday, Aug. 7, but there are several livestock shows and competitive events that start as early as Tuesday, Aug. 5. This year’s pre-Fair shows and classes include the following:

Tuesday, Aug. 5

  • 9 a.m. – Poultry Live Market Show – Poultry Building
  • 9 a.m. – Apiculture – Agriculture Building
  • 4 p.m. – 4-H/FFA Wether Meat Goat and 4-H/FFA Commercial Meat Goat Breeding Doe Show & Showmanship – Sheep Pavilion

Wednesday, Aug. 6

  • 9 a.m. – Country Hams – Agriculture Building
  • 10 a.m. – Vegetables & Vegetable Collections – Agriculture Building
  • 10 a.m. – Fruits & Fruit Collections – Agriculture Building
  • 12 p.m. – 4-H/FFA Weather Goat Show – Sheep Pavilion
  • 4:30 p.m. – Open On-Foot Meat Goat Carcass Show – Sheep Pavilion
  • 5 p.m. – 4-H/FFA Swine Showmanship – Swine Barn
  • 5 p.m. – 4-H/FFA Marketing Lamb Showmanship – Sheep Pavilion
