Garage and residence fire in north Joplin

A garage fire was reported Saturday afternoon around 5 p.m. in the 300 block of north Jackson in the North Heights Neighborhood. Joplin Fire, Joplin Police, and METS ambulance responded, as well as other municipalities including personnel from Webb City, Carl, and Reddings Mill. It was reported that no one was injured and the fire was extinguished safely.

Flames as high as 35 feet were reportedly seen licking treetops as the garage was engulfed in flames. Smoke was observed for miles from north Joplin. It appears that the fire spread onto the roof of the attached house. NewsTalk KZRG will have updates as they become available.
