When: 6 a.m., Wednesday, July 30 through 4 p.m., Friday, August 15

What: Contractor crews setting girders for new Route 96 bridge over Route 171

Traffic Impacts:

• All lanes of Route 171 CLOSED intermittently at Route 96 weekdays between July 30 and August 15
• All lanes of Route 171 OPEN at Route 96 during weekends
• Traffic will be diverted up and over Route 171 on- and off-ramps in both directions
• Drivers should expect slowed traffic and delays
• Drivers urged to find alternate routes
• Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching the closure
• Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts

Weather and/or scheduling conflicts could alter the work schedule.

This work is part of the project to replace the Route 96 bridge over Route 171 with a new bridge that is slightly higher and 12 feet longer than the current bridge. The $2.8 million project is scheduled to be completed by November 19, 2025.
