Eagle Picher expanding in Pittsburg with ground breaking for 2nd plant

Eagle Picher held a ground breaking in Pittsburg Thursday morning for a new manufacturing facility for making parts for military batteries.
What does this mean to Pittsburg?
Pittsburg City Manager Daron Hall tells Newstalk KZRG
“The main thing is just the jobs. You know, we always want to have quality jobs here so people can find a way to make a living and live here. And this is right up our alley on that. They’ve been here for a long time. We know they’re going to be here next year or the year after that. And they’re talking about 50 jobs and they’re very well paying jobs and a good company to work for. From what I hear from the people that live here, just excitement all the way around.”
Future plant manager Greg Kirk tells KZRG how long it will take to build?
“Right now, we’re planning on having the walls up by the end of the year. We should be hopefully starting to move in some things in the February time frame for 2026. And then the plan currently is to be fully moved in with equipment by the end of March OF 2026.”.
Eagle Picher Senior Vice President of Defense Systems Ron Newlin announced at Thursdays ground breaking for a second Pittsburg factory they may be adding more jobs at the current plant:
“What we produce today in that facility, We’ve been asked, could you do 4x the volume so that not only takes us from where we’re at today, but doing a second shift, a third shift? And some of the volumes they’re talking about could even lead to an expansion of that facility as well to add more capability.”
