Speed limit has changed on busy Carl Junction roadway

The speed limit has changed on a busy Carl Junction roadway.

MODOT has lowered the speed limit on Z highway, from Roney to JJ to 40 miles per hour and the school zone speed limit has lowered to 30 miles per hour..  

Carl Junction Police Chief Mark McCall tells Newstalk KZRG:

“MoDOT did a traffic survey earlier this year and determined that due to the schools and the traffic and everything, it needed to be dropped by five miles an hour.”

Chief McCall hopes the accident rate goes down because of the change.

Z highway runs by the Carl Junction High School.
