NEO Livestock Judging Team named International Champions in U.K.

MIAMI, Okla.  – The Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College (NEO) Livestock Judging Team has returned from an unforgettable educational and cultural tour of Scotland, Ireland, and London.

The 10-day international experience allowed students to explore global agricultural practices, tour historic landmarks, and build lasting connections across borders.

The team visited various prominent agricultural sites, including pedigree cattle and sheep operations in rural Scotland and Ireland, a livestock market, and two livestock shows. These stops offered the students firsthand insight into international livestock breeding programs, sustainability practices, and marketing systems.

Students represented both NEO and the United States on a global stage. The experience broadened their knowledge, challenged their skills, and exposed them to new cultures and agricultural practices. The team fielded the top 3 pairs at the Royal Highland Show in Scotland, classifying them as international champions. Beyond the results, the personal and professional growth these students experienced was immeasurable.

Students who participated in the trip included:

Tyeson Gravenhof – Roundup, Montana
Cooper Frazier – Jay, Oklahoma
Dustee Hollenback – Jay, Oklahoma
Chloe Mabry – Farmington, Arkansas
Avery Kimble – Montrose, Colorado

Jacey Smith – Decatur, Arkansas

“This trip was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience,” said Mattie Haynes, NEO Livestock Judging Team Coach. “Our students gained a valuable global perspective and returned home with a broader understanding of agriculture and its cultural significance around the world. I’m proud of how they represented NEO across the pond.”
