Price of Forever stamp increases by 7.4%

The price of a postage stamp has going up.

As of last Sunday, he price of first-class Forever stamps increased by 7.4%.

That moved the price from 73 cents to 78 cents.

Senior U.S. Postal Service Representative Marti Johnson called the jump a “rational and realistic approach.”

“As changes in the mailing and shipping marketplace continue, these price adjustments are needed to achieve the financial stability sought by the organization’s Delivering for America 10-year plan,” the USPS said in a press release.

The USPS said its prices are the “most affordable in the world.”
