MoDot Traffic Alert: I-44 nighttime lane closures from Joplin to Strafford

What:  Land Closures

Where: Along I-44 in Newton, Jasper, Lawrence, and Greene counties between Main Street (Missouri Route 43) in Joplin to Missouri Route 125 in Strafford

When: 8 p.m. – 6 a.m. beginning Monday, July 21, until late September

What: Contractor crews will be collecting core samples for the Forward 44 project. Crews will begin on I-44 near Main Street in Joplin and work their way east toward Missouri Route 125 in Strafford.

Traffic Impacts:

• I-44 nighttime lane Closures in Newton, Jasper, Lawrence, and Greene Counties between Main Street (Missouri Route 43) in Joplin to Missouri Route 125 in Strafford
• Crew and equipment close to traffic
• No signed detour. Drivers should find alternate routes.
• Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching the work zones
• Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closures/traffic impacts

Weather and/or construction delays could alter the work schedule.
