Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey reminds tornado victims to report fraud

In the wake of the devasting tornadoes that recently swept through Missouri, Attorney General Andrew Bailey is urging affected residents to report any instances of fraud through his office’s fraud abuse hotline.

He says fraud is unfortunately typical in the wake of severe weather or tornadoes like the ones in Jefferson County and St. Louis City,  and that the attorney general’s office has set up several brick-and-mortar locations in response where the consumer protection team met with those who felt that they were victims.

More than 1600 individuals were served in about 12 days at the locations in St. Louis alone. Bailey says the fraud abuse hotline is always open by calling 1-800-392-8222. Complaints can also be filed at ago.mo.gov.
