Arrest made after fatal pedestrian hit and run in Joplin

Joplin Police have made an arrest after a fatal pedestrian hit and run Monday night.

JPD says 49-year-old Ruben Blanco, of Joplin, was taken into custody for Leaving the Scene of a Crash resulting in a death.

It stems from a crash near the crosswalk of 7th and Gray Avenue, which claimed the life of 55-year-old Eva M. Havelock, of Joplin.

Police expressed their gratitude to everyone who provided information or tips related to this case after Blanco fled the scene in his Ford Explorer Monday night.
