Man from Montgomery County facing attempted murder charges

A man from Montgomery County, Kansas is facing attempted murder in the first degree charges following a shooting in the small community of Wayside over the weekend.

Robert William Darrow was formally charged in Montgomery County District Court with one count of attempted murder in the first degree.

Darrow reportedly attempted to kill Nathaniel Rush of Caney, Kansas in the shooting.

Rush sustained critical injuries from a gunshot wound and was later flown to a hospital for treatment.

Darrow was later found in his residence in Independence and was taken into custody.

Bond has been set at a quarter-million dollars.
