Lamar man killed in crash east of Springfield

A man from Lamar, Missouri was killed in a two-vehicle accident late Wednesday morning on Highway 60, east of Springfield.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the crash happened when 64-year-old Doyle E. Wallace changed lanes and struck the back of a trash truck.

He was life-flighted to a hospital in Springfield where he was pronounced dead a few hours later.

The Highway Patrol report says he was not wearing a safety belt.

The driver of the trash truck was not injured.
