Missing Washington child found safe in Jasper County

The FBI says a young boy that disappeared from the state of Washington eight months ago was found safe near Joplin on Friday.

8-year-old Breadson John was first reported missing in June after members of his community in Vancouver, Washington, reported their concerns to police, who then tried to contact several of Breadson’s family members to determine if they knew his whereabouts.

Vancouver police say family members would not give them any information at the time, but he’s now with Child Protective Services and headed back to Washington.

“Breadson’s recovery would not have been possible without the combined efforts of the Vancouver Police Department, FBI Kansas City, and the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office,” said Richard A. Collodi, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s Seattle field office. “We are relieved at this outcome and how quickly we were able to resolve it.”
