Galena woman sentenced for involuntary manslaughter, drug charges

A Galena woman was sentenced to seven years behind bars for involuntary manslaughter and for separate drug charges. In July of 2017, Shelby Colon hit and killed 66-year-old Charles Burkybile Jr. and 86-year-old Glen Roosa, who were walking along Main Street in Galena.

Colon got 47 months for one count of involuntary manslaughter and 41 months for the second count… but she will serve those sentences concurrently. She plead guilty to those charges last year. She also received 41 months for a separate possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute charge.
