Joplin man facing murder charges after fatal shooting Sunday night

A man from Joplin is facing two counts of first degree murder after a fatal shooting in Joplin late Sunday night.
Detectives with the Joplin Police Department worked overnight and continue their investigation today after last night officers responded to 110 N. Rangeline Rd, Bites N Pipes, for a report of a large disturbance involving gunshots. Officers arrived on scene and located two individuals on scene who were deceased.
Court documents say that the suspect, 20-year-old Raymund Badios, was inside the lounge when a fight broke out over possession of an iPad that was being used to play music. He then was seen pulling a handgun from his friend’s pocket before shooting three people, two fatally, including one person who wasn’t actively engaged in the fight.
The victims in this case have been identified as 36-year-old Toua Y. Lee of Joplin and 30-year-old Chong K. Xiong of Duenweg. Next of kin for both victims have been notified.
Charges are being sought for two counts of Murder in the 1st Degree, one count of Assault in the 1st
Degree, and three counts of Armed Criminal Action. This is still an active and ongoing investigation
and more updates will be released if they become available.
