Hawley Receiving Heavy Outside Support in US Senate Bid
His opponent Claire McCaskill is also getting a lot of outside support

As the nation watches the Missouri US Senate race, Republican Josh Hawley has garnered some more support from those outside of the state.
U.S. Senators Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and Cory Gardner of Colorado made a stop in the St. Louis suburb of Chesterfield. Graham rallies support for Hawley ahead of what is expected to be a close race for a key Senate seat. “The first thing you oughta do when you represent your state is understand what the people want and sometimes you have to say no to your own party. Trust me, I get that, I have the scars to prove it. The big stuff matters, the economy matters.”
Gardner says Hawley will support Missouri’s conservative values. “We need Missouri. We have to have Missouri. This is about freedom, this is about opportunity, this is about greater opportunity for every single generation.”
Meanwhile, former Vice-President Joe Biden will be in eastern Missouri Wednesday to campaign for Hawley’s Democratic challenger, incumbent Senator Claire McCaskill.
President Trump will be in Columbia Thursday and in Cape Girardeau Monday campaigning for Hawley as the midterms quickly approach. The Missouri U.S. Senate contest is a key battleground in the fight between the parties for control of the chamber. Republican hold a 51-to-49 edge in the Senate and hope to increase their numbers as numerous vulnerable Democrats are defending their seats in states Trump won, in some cases by wide margins.
