More than 60 musical acts will turn residential front steps into concert stages Saturday, Oct. 10, when the 10th Annual North Heights Porchfest returns to Joplin.

Organized by the nonprofit North Heights Neighborhood Group alongside local volunteers, the free, daylong street festival runs from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Organizers anticipate over 10,000 people will walk the residential streets just north of downtown.

The annual Thomas Hart Benton Art Competition and Exhibition is on display at the Neosho Area Chamber of Commerce through October 23rd, weekdays 8:30 AM to 4 PM. The display is at 216 West Spring Street. Admission is free.

The Crowder College Longwell Museum is hosting the Midwest Clay Artists Exhibit now through October 22nd, weekdays 9 AM to 6 PM. The display features pottery and ceramic work from artists in Missouri and Kansas. The museum is inside the Elsie Plaster Community Center on the Crowder College Neosho campus.

The Carthage Maple Leaf Rodeo happens tonight (Friday) and tomorrow (Saturday) night with gates opening at 6 PM each night. Full of family fun including mutton busting, barrel racing, bull riding and more. The rodeo grounds are at 521 Robert Ellis Drive in Carthage.

The Carthage Maple Leaf Festival starts today and runs through Saturday, October 17th. There are family fun events every day of the festival. A lot of the events are around the downtown square and city parks. Saturday, October 17th is when the Maple Leaf Parade takes place. Over 100,000 visitors come to the festival each year. The play "Madam's Been Murdered, Tea Will Be Late" will be presented this weekend at Stones Throw Dinner Theatre. Shows will be nightly, tonight (Friday) and tomorrow (Saturday) with doors opening at 6 nightly, dinner served at 6:30 each night. Sunday afternoon matinee, the doors open at 12:30 pm and dinner is served at 1 pm.

The ROOT 66 Carthage Farmers Market is open on Saturday!

The Carthage Farmers Market offers a wide variety of fresh in-season produce, greenhouse plants, honey, jams, jelly, and baked goods.

They are hosting it at their covered pavilion, at 122 Grant Street in Carthage. It is sort of near the Carthage Civil War museum and Pete's convenience store.
