Voter registration deadline for general election Wednesday October 7th
What do you think?
If you just turned 18, moved since the last election, or for any other reason need to register to vote in the next election, the deadline to register to vote for the November 3, 2026 election is October 7th at 4:30pm.
Jasper County Clerk Charlie Davis urges early registration to avoid last-minute issues and ensure timely processing.
Voters unsure about their registration status can call the clerk's office in Carthage or Joplin for verification to avoid surprises at the polls.
According to Davis, anyone who has voted in recent years is not removed from the voter rolls if they continue voting regularly.
This policy reduces the need for re-registration for frequent voters, simplifying the process.
Voters can register online via the Secretary of State’s website.
Clerk Charlie Davis recommends in-person registration to confirm details and avoid delays.
Davis went on to say office staff can verify and correct addresses during in-person registration to prevent errors.
Required documents focus on proof of identity and current address.
Bringing a driver’s license helps confirm the voter’s address quickly.
If the address on the license is outdated, another document showing the current address is needed.
The registration process is designed to be quick, taking only a few minutes to complete and finalize voting eligibility.
